Warrington forward Jack Hughes ruptured his testicle in the first half of Saturday’s defeat to Catalans but played the rest of the match.

The Wolves co-captain sustained the injury midway through the first half of their 30-10 loss to the Dragons in Perpignan.

But Hughes completed the game before being treated for his ruptured testicle.

He went to hospital in Perpignan where he has stayed until Monday, when he will fly back to England.

Fighting on and off the pitch marred the end of the game though. Catalans pair Micky McIlorum and Sam Tomkins were sent off, while Warrington winger Jake Mamo received two yellow cards and captain Chris Hill was also sent to the sin bin.

There were worse scenes off the pitch, as fans were seen trying to climb in to the hospitality area at the State Gilbert Brutus with reports of items being thrown.
