Jake Clifford to join Newcastle Knights from 2022
North Queensland Cowboys half-back Jake Clifford will join Newcastle Knights on a two-year deal from 2022.
The 22-year-old has made 35 NRL appearances since making his debut for the Cowboys in 2018.
Knights head of recruitment Clint Zammit said: “When the opportunity arose to sign Jake, I thought it was a perfect fit for both parties.
“We believe he will grow alongside the likes of Mitchell Pearce, both as a player and as a person.
“He’s a good young talent from a good family and will be a great addition to both our playing group and the Knights for a long time.”
Clifford is contracted to the Cowboys for 2021, and will link up with the Knights once his North Queensland contract expires.
