Johnstone: “We need to win”
Jordan Johnstone says Widnes will put last week’s disappointment at Hull behind them when they face Salford on Friday.
Johnstone played his first game of the season as the Vikings fell 32-12 at Hull, but he believes they will fare better against the Red Devils.
“Personally, I thought I did okay and I played about 20-25 minutes – to be honest, I was really happy to get back out there after not playing since the St Helens game in pre-season, so I was happy to play,” he told the club’s official website.
“I thought that in the first 30 minutes we were pretty solid and we were in the game, but then we let it slip in the last ten of the first and first ten in the second half.
“I thought we were sloppy in certain areas, but we will patch it up against Salford on Friday.
“Salford will be coming in full of confidence, but we need to win. We’ve lost a few of our opening games, so we will be going out to get the win.”
