Jones to miss season start
Salford forward Josh Jones could be out for the next six weeks after breaking his hand in the friendly win over Rochdale.
Jones was hurt in the Red Devils’ 44-18 win.
Salford head coach Ian Watson said: “Josh is looking like maybe six weeks out with a fracture in his hand.
“He doesn’t know when he did it but we sent him for an X-ray and it revealed the extent of the damage.
“It’s unfortunate but you have to play these games in order to be ready for the season.”
The Red Devils play champions Wigan Warriors in their opening league game on February 11.
