Jonny Lomax hits huge milestone as new recruit makes Wakefield debut
St Helens stalwart Jonny Lomax will reach a landmark appearance tonight against a Wakefield side featuring their new signing Will Dagger.
Lomax has been named in Paul Wellens’ side to take on Wakefield on Friday night, meaning he will play his 300th game in the Red V.
The 32-year-old has become a firm fan favourite at the club since making his first team debut back in 2009.
Lomax has played a vital role in helping the Saints win the Super League Grand Final for the last four seasons in a row. He also helped Wellens’ side win the World Club Challenge in Australia earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Mark Pericval and Morgan Knowles are back in the starting line-up for the Wakefield game.
Young forward George Delaney comes in on the bench for his first St Helens appearance of the year. He has played five times in the Championship for Swinton via dual-registration in 2023.

Wakefield coach Mark Applegarth has made a total of five changes from last week’s 34-6 defeat to Hull KR. Dagger, Senior, Morgan Smith, Jordy Crowther and Harry Bowes come in for Robbie Butterworth, Hall (left), Taufua (injured), Renouf Atoni (injured) and Sam Hewitt (suspended).
