Jordan Baldwinson agrees York stay
Former Leeds and Wakefield forward Jordan Baldwinson has signed a new one-year deal at York.
Baldwinson, 25, has made 24 appearances for the City Knights since arriving from Trinity, initially on loan, in April 2019.
He said: “I’m over the moon to commit to another year to this great club. I really feel like I have finally found the club I can call home and I enjoy playing my rugby with a great set of lads.
“Everything about the club is great and I couldn’t think of another club I’d rather be at.”
Baldwinson had a spell with New Zealand Warriors in 2017, and has also played for Bradford, Featherstone, Leigh and Halifax.
Coach James Ford added: “Jordan has really impressed us all at York, mainly with the responsibility he takes for his and the team’s continued improvement. It really has been a pleasure to watch Jordan drive home standards and lead on some of the extras the boys did pre-Covid.
“Jordan is a very fit middle who has a strong passing game and I’m sure a faster game will suit him. There are one or two things he needs to keep reinforcing in his game and the competition for a spot in our middle, alongside his outstanding attitude, will really facilitate his continued development.”
