Hull FC forward Jordan Lane has signed a new deal that will see him stay with his hometown club until at least the end of the 2025 season.

The 24-year-old back-rower has made 78 appearances for the Black and Whites since making his first team debut in 2018.

Lane, who was given the number 13 jersey ahead of this season, was called up to the England Knights squad last year but had to pull out due to injury.

Lane said: “Tying down my long-term future with the club is something I’m really pleased to do.

“I feel like I’ll be coming into the prime of my career over the next few years and there’s no place I’d rather be playing than my boyhood club.

“I feel like I’ve come a long way since I signed my last contract in 2020. Being given the number thirteen jersey this season was a really proud moment for me and my family, and I want to continue to improve and develop throughout 2022 and beyond.

“My confidence has improved massively over the last couple of years, having been a regular name on the team sheet every week.

“Brett (Hodgson) has shown a lot of faith in me to play my own game and that has really helped me continue to progress.”

Brett Hodgson wants to build the Hull team around Jordan Lane

Hull coach Brett Hodgson said: “We’ve got big aspirations for Laney. He’s one of the first names on the team sheet every week and brings us some great utility value being able to jump in at back-row and loose forward.

“He is a dominant figure in the way we play, runs some great lines for us, great with the ball in his hands, and is someone we want to build the team around going forward over the next few years.

“He has shown some big improvements over the last few years in terms of his confidence, and I think if he keeps up his current form, he has potential to feature on the international stage over the course of the next few years.

“It’s been a big week for him personally too with the birth of his little girl, so we’re all wishing him a big congratulations all round.”
