Rising stars Josh Simm and Jake Wingfield have signed new deals with St Helens.

St Helens have given centre Josh Simm a 12-month contract extension which will take him to the end of the 2022 season.

The 20-year-old academy product, who is the grandson of former Saints full-back Geoff Pimblett, made his Super League debut against London Broncos in 2019 and deputised six times in 2020 for injured England centre Mark Percival.Saints head coach Kristian Woolf said: “Josh has really matured as a player over the last 12 months and is showing that maturity again in terms of how he is advancing over the pre-season.

“He is getting closer and closer to cementing a spot in our team every week and that is certainly the progression we see for him.”

Forward Wingfield, 19, has signed a two-year contract extension which will keep him at Saints until the end of 2023.

Wingfield said: “I am really happy to sign this extension. The club has been great with me over the past 18 months with my injury.

“They have supported me all the way and signing on and show my loyalty, was the least I could do. Hopefully now there is plenty more opportunities to come.”
