Keighley release first team duo
Keighley Cougars have confirmed Joe Lumb and Gavin Reed have been released from their contracts.
Lumb only joined the League 1 side from Bradford Bulls in the off-season but has opted to take on a new challenge in Australia. He came through the Cougars’ reserve side.
Scotland Student international Reed joined Keighley’s reserves after impressing while playing for Leeds Beckett University in 2017. He made his debut later than season, helping Keighley beat York City Knights in a Super 8s clash.
Reed wants more game time though and has decided to join amateur side Dewsbury Celtic.
In a club statement, the Cougars said: “The club would like to thank both for their efforts with the club and wish them the best with their future endeavours.”
