Calls on Andrew Henderson to coach Combined Nations All Stars
Kenny Edwards says he would love to see Andrew Henderson take charge of the Combined Nations All Stars for their clash against England in 2022.
Edwards will feature for Castleford Tigers in 2022 after making the switch from Huddersfield during the off-season.
The New Zealand-born back-rower represented the Combined Nations All Stars in their inaugural year in 2021. The test at Warrington’s Halliwell Jones Stadium saw Tim Sheens’ side claim a 26-24 victory.
The clash is set to return again in 2022 as part of England’s preparations for the upcoming Rugby League World Cup.
Combined Nations All Stars will also use the fixture to raise funds for Tonga.
However, with Sheens now back in Australia with a new role at Wests Tigers, Edwards has called on Henderson to lead the side in 2022.

Combined Nations All Stars to seek new coach in 2022
“I said to Sheensy are you getting on a plane and coming back or what?’,” Edwards joked. “But he won’t be back this year.
“We haven’t spoke about it (the next coach) as a group but I’d like to see a bloke like Hendo get the gig.
“I really enjoyed him last year in the All Stars camp. He was outstanding.
“Sheensy sort of stood back and didn’t really do too much coaching. Hendo did a lot of it and it was a breath of fresh air being around him in camp.
“I loved what he brought to the All Stars. He sort of ran the camp while Sheensy stood back. He was the assistant so Hendo ran the thing. I’d love to see someone like him get the job.
“He’s been around for years. I’d really love to see Hendo get the job.”

Kenny Edwards eyeing up return to All Stars
Edwards says he would love to be a part of the Combined Nations All Stars again in 2022.
The newly-established side enjoyed a week’s camp in Warrington ahead of their test with England. And Edwards says the experience was the highlight of his 2021 season.
“I’d love to play again,” he said.
“For me, that was the best weekend of my year last year.
“That was a highlight for us boys at Huddersfield. Myself and Aidan Sezer said being in that week was the best week of our year last year.
“Being around players of the same culture, all from Australia or New Zealand and now all over here. We got to be in the camp for the week and it was the highlight of my 2021 and to win the game on top of that was massive.
“I’d love to be a part of it again. I suppose my on-field footy will do the talking. If I’m good enough at the time I’ll get picked as I’d love to play against England again.”
