Kevin Brown banned for headbutt on Jordan Turner

Drew Darbyshire

Salford half-back Kevin Brown has received a two-match ban for headbutting Huddersfield centre Jordan Turner.

Brown was sin-binned five minutes from time in Salford’s 12-10 defeat to Huddersfield on Friday night for a headbutt on Turner in a tackle.

The Rugby Football League’s match review panel has charged Brown for a Grade C dangerous contact offence and the former England international has received a two-match suspension.

Brown will miss upcoming games against Leeds and Wakefield for the Red Devils.

In the same match, Giants utility Darnell McIntosh has avoided suspension for a Grade A dangerous contact hit on Brown moments before the latter was yellow carded.

Elsewhere, Wigan’s Tommy Leuluai, Leeds’ Ava Seumanufagai and St Helens duo Matty Costello and James Bentley received cautions for dangerous contacts.
