Kevin Walters appointed Brisbane Broncos head coach
Brisbane Broncos have confirmed the appointment of Kevin Walters as head coach on a two-year deal.
Walters, 52, is a former Broncos captain and five-time Premiership winner with the club, and will start in the role in coming weeks as preparations ramp up for the 2021 preseason.
Walters returns to the Broncos having been Queensland State of Origin coach for the past four series.
He had previously coached Catalans Dragons in the Super League in 2009 to 2010.

He said: “I love the Brisbane Broncos – this club is part of who I am and it feels like I am coming home.
“I’ve put in a lot of work over the past 15 years to learn and gain the experience that’s required to succeed in this role, so I feel that I’m ready.
“I’m looking forward to getting into the building and starting work on preparations for the 2021 pre-season.”
