Kieran Rush: Huddersfield youngster loaned to Swinton
Swinton Lions have announced the signing of hooker Kieran Rush from Huddersfield on an initial loan agreement.
The 19-year-old, who can also play in the halves, is a product of the Giants’ academy and has been with the club since signing on as a scholar.
He has since progressed through the academy, and earned his first professional contract in September last year.
Rush is expected to be in the squad for Sunday’s League 1 clash against unbeaten Keighley at Cougar Park. The Lions will be hoping to bounce back after losing their unbeaten start against North Wales over the Easter weekend.
Speaking to the club website about the move, Rush said: “I’m really happy to be at Swinton Lions, and I can’t wait to get some game time and show what I can do.”
Lions Head Coach Allan Coleman added: “It’s great to be able to welcome Kieran to Swinton. We’ve kept contact with Huddersfield over recent weeks, and I’d like to thank Giants’ Head Coach Ian Watson, and CEO Andy Kelly, for their support which has enabled this agreement to take place.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing Kieran in a Swinton shirt.”
Innes Senior commits long-term future to Huddersfield Giants
Huddersfield Giants winger Innes Senior has signed a new deal which will see him remain with the club until at least the end of the 2024 season.
The 21-year-old has made 26 appearances for the Giants since making his first team debut in 2018.
Senior has also enjoyed spells on loan with Workington and Wakefield during his time with Huddersfield.
Senior said: “I’m delighted to sign a new deal to keep me at Huddersfield Giants.
“I want to continue developing and improving my game at the Giants and I hope to continue on the path I’ve started since I made my debut here.
“It’s great to continue my career at my hometown club and I’m looking forward to continuing to compete for a starting spot.”
