Kite to join Panthers

Veteran Manly prop will bolster Penrith’s forward pack from next season after signing on a two-year deal.

Kite, 32, will leave the Sea Eagles after nine seasons at Brookvale and appears to be the latest player to be squeezed out under the salary cap.

Kite has played 14 tests for Australia and made ten Origin appearances for NSW.

“I would have loved to finish my career at Manly, the club that I’ve given a great deal to, and the club that’s given a great deal to me,” Kite told Manly’s official website.

“Unfortunately, successful teams can never hang on to everyone, but at Manly we’ve managed to do this better than anyone else in recent times.”

Penrith Panthers General Manager Football Phil Moss said: “Brent will certainly add depth to the Panthers forward pack.

“We very much look forward to welcoming Brent to Penrith next year.”
