York City Knights have added two more players to their 2018 squad with the retention of Chris Siddons and singing of outside-back Lewis Price from Castleford Lock Lane.

Siddons, 25, made a good name for himself at amateur-grade while skippering Castleford Lock Lane before signing for the Knights ahead of the 2017 season.

The prop forward was also the Player of the Tour in England Lions’ trip to Fiji before he joined York.

On the retaining Siddons for next season, Knights head coach James Ford said: “Chris impressed everyone at York last year, playing big minutes when required and utilising a good passing game for a middle.

“Although Chris attracted interest from around League 1, he has always been keen to extend his stay at the Knights and continue his development. He’s a popular figure due to his work ethic and I’m eagerly looking forward to seeing how a full pre-seaosn in our environment can influence his performance.

“If Chris works hard at one or two parts in and around his game, I’m sure he can develop his game towards the next level.”

Meanwhile, Price, 21, can play at centre or at full-back and has impressed a number of coaches in League 1 while plying his trade for Lock Lane.

On the signing of Price, Ford added: “I’ve been to watch Lewis on numerous occasions and I’m excited to bring someone to the club I feel can improve immensely.

“He’s a good athletic, strong, quick and evasive. Mentally, he’s displayed plenty of desire, awareness and a good work ethic.

“If he’s willing to invest in the development of his game, I’m confident we’ve got a good player on our hands.”
