Lachlan Coote expected to return for St Helens next week
St Helens coach Kristian Woolf says he expects full-back Lachlan Coote to be back for next week’s trip to Castleford.
The Great Britain and Scotland international suffered an MCL injury in Saints’ win over Salford in the opening round of the season and has not featured since.
Coote was included in Saints’ 21-man squad for their 12-10 defeat to Huddersfield on Friday night but he didn’t play. Woolf expects Coote to be back for next Sunday’s clash at Castleford.
Saints led 10-6 at the break against the Giants, but Jake Wardle scored the only try of the second half to seal a shock 12-10 win for Huddersfield.
Woolf said: “It was a very frustrating night. I thought we were a little bit off in a lot of aspects tonight.
“We were on top for really long periods but we kept throwing opportunities away.
“I was disappointed with us right across the board. We didn’t work together as well as we needed to as a team.
“We had enough opportunities to win the game. It wasn’t a pretty game and allowed to be very, very slow. But we have got to adjust to that and find a way.”
