League 1 fixture cancelled due to lack of medical cover
The League 1 fixture between London Skolars and Keighley Cougars has been cancelled due to a lack of medical cover.
The match, scheduled to take place on Saturday, has been called off 18 hours before it is due to start at the New River Stadium. The Skolars have been unable to provide adequate medical cover under the RFL’s Operational Rules.
Keighley were making the trip to London hoping to extend their unbeaten run this season. They have won all 12 of their games so far this season.
Meanwhile, London were hoping for their fourth win of the season. That could have seen them go above Oldham in the League One table.
The RFL’s statement said: “Tomorrow’s (Saturday 9 July) Betfred League One fixture between London Skolars and Keighley Cougars has been cancelled. Despite extensive efforts, Skolars are unable to provide appropriate medical cover (i.e. a doctor) in line with the game’s Operational Rules.
“The matter will now be referred to RFL Compliance for further consideration.”

Reacting to the news, Graham told the club website: “When I first came to the club last year, the boys were so welcoming and have helped to progress as both a player and a person.
“The atmosphere, the energy, and that bond, that we all have as players and staff is beyond belief.”
