League 1: Swinton defeat Rochdale in derby & Keighley continue unbeaten run
Swinton Lions defeated rivals Rochdale Hornets 34-14 at Heywood Road in a Greater Manchester derby in League 1.
Allan Coleman’s side went into the break with a comfortable 20-4 victory, while Rangi Chase showed off his skills to assist Lewis Sheridan in the first half.
14 further points saw the Lions claim their eighth win of the season to jump to second in the League 1 table.
Wales World Cup hopefuls Rhodri Lloyd and Mike Butt both crossed for tries. Louis Brogan, George Roby and Mitch Cox also crossing for four-pointers, while Dan Abram kicked seven goals against his former club.
Sheridan crossing twice for Matt Calland’s Hornets, while winger Rob Worrincy also scored.

Meanwhile, North Wales Crusaders fell to their second defeat of the season away to Hunslet. Alan Kilshaw’s side claiming a 30-22 victory. Harvey Hallas, Josh Jordan-Roberts and Wayne Reittie all scoring, while Jacob Doyle crossed for a hat-trick.
Oldham ended their losing streak with an impressive 66-0 victory Midlands Hurricanes at home. Veteran Martyn Ridyard crossed for a four-pointer and converted nine goals, as his side crossed for 12 tries.
Keighley Cougars remain unbeaten in League 1, claiming a 56-12 victory away at Cornwall. The league leaders have been busy in recruitment, recently adding both Junior Sa’u and Eddy Pettybourne. However, fans will have to wait another two weeks to see the duo debut.

Meanwhile on Saturday, London Skolars picked up their third win of the season with a 28-16 triumph at West Wales Raiders. The Welsh outfit sit 10th in the table, while newcomers Cornwall still search for their first win of the season.
