Lebanon appoint ex-Wallabies boss Michael Cheika as new head coach
Lebanon have appointed former Wallabies boss Michael Cheika as the nation’s new head coach.
Cheika will lead the Cedars in next year’s Rugby League World Cup, which will be hosted in England.
The 53-year-old, who was born in Australia to Lebanese parents, coached the Wallabies for five years before leaving his role in 2019 after their World Cup campaign.
Lebanon impressed at the Rugby League World Cup in 2017, with the Cedars reaching the quarter-final stage before being knocked out by Tonga.
