Lee Radford: I thought we did enough to get the result

Drew Darbyshire

Hull FC coach Lee Radford was disappointed to see his side squander their lead in their defeat to Catalans.

The Black and Whites led 28-10 after 52 minutes but the Dragons came back to claim a 34-29 victory at the KCOM Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Radford said: “I thought we did enough to win the game, probably twice. It’s heartbreaking in that manner of the last play of the game as well.

“I think they got a bit of wind in their sails and we didn’t break the back of that. That is something we have to get better at.

“Today I thought we did enough to get the result. It’s sort of two steps forward and one step back.”

When asked if you can coach against Israel Folau’s late catch, Radford added: “You can, but unfortunately we don’t have anyone who is 8’2″ in our team and anyone who can jump that high in our team, so it’s very hard to replicate.”
