Leeds and Warrington hit by bans following tribunal hearing

Two players from Warrington and Leeds have received bans following an independent tribunal hearing.

Leeds Rhinos’ Muizz Mustapha has been banned for fives matches.

Jacob Gannon of Warrington Wolves will miss three matches following the outcome of independent tribunal hearings this evening.

Both players were referred to tribunal following incidents during the recent Reserves match between the two clubs.

Gannon pleaded guilty to a Grade D Dangerous Contact charge, while Mustapha was successfully in seeing his original Grade E referral for a  Dangerous Throw downgraded to D.

All Super League bans

Brothers Sione and Peter Mata’utia have received bans by the RFL’s match review panel following Round 14 of Super League.

Sione will serve a two-match ban, while older brother Peter will miss Sunday’s trip to Wakefield with a one-match ban.

Elsewhere, Hull prop Scott Taylor will miss Saturday’s game against Catalans Dragons in France. He was charged with a Grade B dangerous contact in their 19-18 loss at Wakefield on Sunday.

Hull KR hooker Matt Parcell and Salford forward Harvey Livett received Grade A charges but neither face suspension. They will be available to face St Helens and Wigan this weekend respectively.

There were cautions for Mahe Fonua (Castleford) and Tyrone May (Catalans) over other contrary behaviour.
