Leeds Rhinos trio join Bradford including new signing
Bradford boss Mark Dunning has included three players from Leeds Rhinos in his 21-man squad to take on Sheffield this weekend in the Championship.
Leon Ruan, who joined Leeds ahead of 2023, is among those to be named. The 19-year-old made the move from Doncaster during the off-season on a three-year contract.
He is yet to make his senior debut for the Rhinos. The back-rower featured for Leeds reserves in the 48-0 win over Bradford earlier this month, scoring a try.
Having made his return from injury during the same fixture, hooker Corey Johnson has also been included in Bradford’s squad.
The 22-year-old recently recovered from an operation on his back.
Winger Liam Tindall also returns to Odsal Stadium. He was a try-scorer in the club’s 28-18 victory over Toulouse at home earlier in February. The 21-year-old also featured in the 26-12 defeat to Featherstone at Post Office Road, live on Viaplay Sports.
Meanwhile, Bradford have confirmed that forward Brad England is set for an extended spell on the sideline with a thumb injury suffered against Toulouse.
Signing boost for Keighley from Leeds Rhinos
Keighley have signed Leeds back-rower Joe Gibbons on a season-long loan for the 2023 Championship campaign.
Son of former Rhinos player David Gibbons, back-rower Gibbons was one of a number of players picked up from Wetherby Bulldogs by Leeds Rhinos.
Gibbons had been promoted to 2023 Leeds Rhinos first team following a very successful 2022 season in the Reserves where he was one of the team’s top performers over the course of the season.
Head coach Rhys Lovegrove said: “He’s a player with a great deal of leg speed, runs good lines and has a good attribute of skills.
“I am looking forward to welcoming Joe to Cougar Park and getting him settled in the team. He goes straight into our squad for the weekend’s game.”
Keighley take on Halifax Panthers this Sunday in Round Six.
