Leeds v Warrington: Six players to make debuts in Channel 4 opener
Six players are set to make their Leeds and Warrington debuts in Saturday’s Super League showdown which will be the first game shown live on Channel 4.
Leeds coach Richard Agar has included three of his four off-season signings Aidan Sezer, James Bentley and David Fusitu’a in his squad for their Super League opener.
The club’s fourth recruit, Blake Austin, will miss the game against his froemr club after being given a one-match suspension by the Rugby Football League’s match review panel.
Rhinos prop Matt Prior will make his 300th career appearances in the lunchtime kick-off at Headingley on Saturday. Kruise Leeming will captain Leeds for the first time.
Leeds full-back Jack Walker could make his first Super League appearance since November 2020. He missed all of last season through injury. Harry Newman is also named in Agar’s squad as the Rhinos give the young centre as much time as possible to prove his fitness before round one.
Meanwhile, three players are also set to make their debuts for Warrington under new head coach Daryl Powell. Joe Bullock, Oliver Holmes and Peter Mata’utia have been named in Powell’s 21-man squad.
George Williams is set to partner Gareth Widdop in the halves, with Stefan Ratchford at full-back. The Wolves will have two options at hooker in the shape of Daryl Clark and Danny Walker.

Australian comedian and presenter Adam Hills will present the Super League coverage on Channel 4 in 2022.
Hills will present the new coverage of the sport on Channel 4 in 2022. He will be joined by Helen Skelton throughout the season.
Channel 4’s live coverage begins this Saturday, February 12, as Leeds host Warrington.
Hills and Skelton will be joined by Danika Priim, Leon Pryce and Sam Tomkins at Headingley.
