Lindsay: We will play with pride
Scotland stand-off Brendon Lindsay says that the Bravehearts will play with pride on Sunday when they face Wales in the European Cup Final.
The Sheffield Eagles star enjoyed the experience of playing on home soil for Scotland last week as they overcame Lebanon 22-10 in horrendous conditions in Glasgow and says that his team is determined to triumph in the Sky Sports-televised final and lift the trophy.
Lindsay said: “It’ll be tough, Wales look very well drilled, have a lot of Crusaders players and they are at home.
“The mood is good in the squad. We can play a lot better and we’ll be going all out to win.
“The time in Scotland was great with the bagpipes before the game and singing the anthem.
“It was terrible conditions but a win is a win. The weather and the way we started the game wasn’t the best. It was one of those games where it was just ‘tuck the ball up the jumper’ and do your best.
Lindsay is joined in the Bravehearts squad by Eagles team-mates Alex Szostak and Mitchell Stringer and he was delighted by the performance of second row Szostak against Lebanon.
Lindsay said: “That’s Alex’s sort of game – he just gets in and does the tough stuff – he was really good,”
