London include coach Henderson in Summer Bash squad
London Broncos have included head coach Andrew Henderson in their 19-man squad for the Summer Bash this weekend in Blackpool.
Handed the squad number 35, the Scotland international will be facing his former club Sheffield Eagles, just to add a bit of spice to the occasion.
“We’ve had two great weeks of preparation leading into this game, and I know the boys are buzzing to play on the big stage at Summer Bash,” said Henderson.
“I’ve made a few changes to the squad this week and I’ve had to make some tough decisions for what I feel is best for the team.
“This game is very important in potentially shaping the outcome of our season. Not only is it important to have a performance, but it’s imperative to get the result.
“I’m really excited to include Matt Davis in the 19-man squad, he’s been exceptional for the academy this year. I’ve had him training with the first team for the past two weeks and his attitude, application and desire has impressed me the most.
“I know for a fact if he plays on Saturday he certainly won’t let the team down. It would be another great story for the club to have another one of our under 19s making the step up to the first team.
“Sheffield are a quality team, I know that too well from my time there, they deserve to be where they are in the league and it’ll take the performance of the season for us to beat them.”
