London Broncos have further strengthened their squad for life in the Championship next season, by signing Welsh international Rhys Williams.

The former Warrington winger has been playing for the Central Queensland Capras in Australia this season.

Williams has 13 caps for Wales, and played against the USA and Italy in last year’s World Cup.

“I’m very excited to be joining the Broncos next season,” he said.

“The challenge of getting back into Super League is one I’m looking forward to as well as playing under Joey [Grima].

“His enthusiasm certainly shines through and his plans for changing the culture at the club are exciting.

“This alongside living in London, where my brother and sister won’t be too far away, is a big advantage after being in Australia for a year.

“I’m looking forward to playing alongside Josh Cordoba. He’s played under Joey before and is an experienced player who will know the standards that Joey will set in order for the culture to change to make this team successful. He could be very instrumental in doing this.”

London coach Joey Grima was pleased to be adding such a quality player to his ranks for 2015.

“I’m really pleased that Rhys will join us next season. He will add some pace to our back line and has the versatility, strength and speed to play at centre and wing,” he said.

“Rhys will move from Australia to London in time for our pre-season which begins at the start of November as we prepare for the season ahead in the Championship.”
