London star James Meadows makes move north ahead of 2022
Batley have signed half-back James Meadows from London Broncos for the 2022 Championship season.
The 22-year-old has made 40 appearances for the Broncos since making his first team debut in 2018.
James Meadows, who can also play full-back, has also enjoyed loan spells with London Skolars, Coventry and Sheffield.
He tweeted: “A new chapter with Batley. A great club and I can’t wait to get to work on achieving the club’s goals for next season. Looking forward to seeing all the fans.
“Thanks to all the players, staff and fans at London Broncos. I’ve had a great eight years at the club. Good luck next year.”
London Broncos captain extends capital stay
Last week, London announced that captain Will Lovell has signed a new two-year deal with the club.
Lovell has recently made the transition from being a full-time player to being a teacher.
He said: “It’s an honour to represent the Broncos and I am really happy to have signed again for the next two years.
“I’ve got a young family now and I am really enjoying my new job so being able to also play professional rugby league completes everything for me.”
“Teaching is going really well and the school are actually really supportive of me, and having a semi-pro rugby player among the staff is something they seem really happy about.”
The Broncos have also announced that they have given young half-back Rian Horsman a two-year deal.
London coach Jermaine Coleman said: “I’m very excited to see Rian put pen to paper with us for the next two seasons. I had the pleasure of working with him for a few weeks this year and could see instantly the ability he has.
“He has a great skill set and has the fantastic leadership qualities all top halves have. I can’t wait to work with him this season and see his development progress.”
