London Broncos academy product Jonathan Wallace has signed a new two-year deal with the club.

Wallace, 19, has made six first team appearances since making his debut against Wigan earlier this season, having been promoted from the Broncos Under 19s set-up.

Head Coach Joe Grima said: “I’m delighted to confirm Jonathan as my first signing at the club.

“He’s played six Super League games so far this season and has been impressive in all. He has a great work ethic in training and on the pitch. Jonathan has come through the junior ranks at the club which gives us extra satisfaction that we have some good systems in place to produce such talented players.”

Wallace, who has also represented Malta at international level, was identified playing for local community club Croydon Hurricanes.

He said: “I’m really pleased to sign a new deal, things with Joey have been really positive so far, so I’ll be really glad to play under him for a further two years.

“To play six Super League games already in the season is a real positive and I feel I’m really coming on as a player.

“We’re focused on this season so I’m not thinking about next year yet. We’re trying to get some wins on the board. I want to stay in London. I love London, the club and the people so I’ll be around for a while.”
