Cronulla enjoyed their second consecutive win, after coming out on top in a thriller with Sydney Roosters.

The Sharks have turned their season around in the last two matches, with miracle comebacks halting a run of five defeats.

Half back Jeff Robson was the hero this time, as his late try overhauled a deficit that began at 24-0.

Michael Gordon‘s conversion meant for a final score of 30-28, and Cronulla are now up to four wins in 2014.

In another surprise result Gold Coast edged South Sydney 14-10, whilst St George Illawarra overcame North Queensland 27-24.

Benji Marshall was back to his best during the Dragons’ victory, as was fellow Kiwi Jason Nightingale, who scored a hatrick.

At the top of the table Penrith returned to winning ways, and Canterbury came out on top in a tight clash with Manly.

Bulldogs captain Michael Ennis scored an 80th minute try to seal the 23-16 win, although the Sea Eagles felt hard done by, after the officials missed a forward pass in the build up.
