Makali Aizue in Dewsbury switch
Dewsbury have signed Papua New Guinea international prop Makali Aizue from Halifax on a one-year deal.
Aizue, 34, made 50 Super League appearances for Hull KR, having been advised to make the switch to the UK by Stanley Gene.
He has spent the past three seasons in the Championship with Halifax, winning the Championship Grand Final in 2010 and this season’s Northern Rail Cup final.
The front-rower is new Rams coach Glenn Morrison‘s fifth new signing, following on from the captures of Ryan Wright, Jy-mel Coleman, Tommy Gallagher and Dale Morton.
Morton’s signature was confirmed earlier this week, with the young winger having made 25 Super League appearances for Wakefield, and playing both alongside and under Morrison during the Australian’s time at the Wildcats.
