Man of Steel points revealed following opening Super League weekend
The Steve Prescott Man of Steel points have been announced following the opening weekend of the 2022 Super League season.
In the opening fixture of the year between St Helens and Catalans, forward Joe Batchelor received three points following his man of the match performance.
All three sets of points available went to the home side. Back-rower Sione Mata’utia received two points. Loose forward Morgan Knowles received one point towards the Man of Steel award.
Following Salford’s victory over Castleford, Marc Sneyd collected the three Man of Steel points on offer. The half-back kicked seven goals from as many attempts in a 26-16 victory over his old club Castleford.
Winger Joe Burgess picked up two, while Derrell Olpherts collected one. The Castleford winger scored a brace, while both Olpherts and Burgess made eight tackle busts each.

Jai Field shines
Wigan full-back Jai Field picked up the maximum points following his side’s 24-10 victory over Hull KR.
Jake Bibby, who bagged a brace on the day, was rewarded with two points. Back-rower Liam Farrell picked up one.
Stefan Ratchford received three points following his side’s victory over Leeds on Saturday. Rhinos captain Kruise Leeming has two points. Gareth Widdop picked up one.
On his Huddersfield debut, Danny Levi received three Man of Steel points. With four try assists, Tui Lolohea collects two and Jake Wardle gets one.
In the final game of the weekend, another man on debut in Hull’s Joe Lovodua has received three points. He scored a try in his side’s 16-12 victory over Wakefield.
Wakefield forward David Fifita was rewarded with two, while Liga Sao gets one.
