Manly 32-6 Canterbury: Sea Eagles ease past Bulldogs
It was the Tommy Turbo show at the Central Coast Stadium as the Manly full-back put on a magnificent display to help his side to a 32-6 victory over Canterbury.
The Sea Eagles opened the scoring through the Australian international before the Trbojevic brothers linked up, with Jake putting Tom through for his second try of the game.
Tom Trbojevic then set up Parker for the first of his two tries and Garrick managed to convert his first goal of the game to give the Sea Eagles a 14-point cushion heading into the break.
Des Hasler‘s side came out of the sheds firing on all cylinders and Turbo Tom was the man in the middle of it all once again.
He gifted Jorge Taufua with a long cut-out ball to score down the left edge. Soon after, the winger attempted to repay the favour but the full-back failed to put the ball down.
A chance then came for Garrick, however, some gallant defending from the Bulldogs on their own line stopped Manly putting more points on the board.
The Bulldogs were then forced to defend repeat sets on their own line which proved too much of a challenge for them as Curtis Sironen bundled over from close range.
Trbojevic then set Parker up for his brace after he broke through the line and passed to the supporting centre who went over.
Jake Averillo gave the Bulldogs something to smile about as he scored his first NRL try but it was only in consolation as Garrick was rewarded for his earlier effort with a try from dummy half to bring the curtain down on the NRL return round as Manly finished 32-6 winners.
