Manu Tuilagi unlikely to make cross-code switch to Toronto Wolfpack

England rugby union international Manu Tuilagi wants to stay at Leicester Tigers, despite interest from rugby league side Toronto Wolfpack.

The 28-year-old is wanted by Super League’s newly-promoted club Toronto, who have signed dual-code international superstar Sonny Bill Williams on a two-year contract.

Williams is set to earn £2.6million a year at the Canadian club, and the big spenders have made England rugby union centre Tuilagi their next target.

Leicester coach Geordan Murphy told BBC Leicester Sport: “If the Wolfpack want Manu then I am sure they can have a conversation with us.

“But we don’t want Manu leaving. He is world class and wants to be at Tigers.

“Manu was offered more money to leave last year when the speculation was around.

“He has a family here. He is settled here and he feels like a Leicester player so I don’t think he will be going anywhere, anytime soon.”
