Mark Percival in St Helens squad for World Club Challenge; no Boyd Cordner for Roosters
Centre Mark Percival could feature for St Helens in the World Club Challenge against Sydney Roosters, despite being booked in for shoulder surgery next week.
Percival, 25, was forced off injured during the defeat to Warrington having suffered the knock in a tackle with Ben Murdoch-Masila.
He is expected to be sidelined for several months, but coach Kristian Woolf has revealed that the England international may still feature this week prior to surgery – saying that they wouldn’t risk him if they weren’t confident that Percival could play.
Skipper James Roby is also included, having sat out the opening three Super League games, but Lachlan Coote hasn’t recovered in time to be selected.
Winger Regan Grace is missing too, after he picked up a concussion injury in the win at Hull.
The Roosters are without Australia international Boyd Cordner, who was a late withdrawal from their squad, ahead of their training and press commitments in St Helens today.
