Matt Whitley confirms future with new deal
Matt Whitley has signed a new two-year deal with Catalans Dragons.
The new deal with see the back-rower remain at Gilbert Brutus Stadium until the end of the 2024 Super League season.
Whitley, 26, joined the club from Widnes Vikings in 2019. He has scored 28 tries in 71 appearances for the Dragons. In 2022, he has played 13 games for Catalans, crossing for four tries.

On his new contract, Whitley said: “I’m really excited to be staying at the Dragons and really looking forward to the next two years.”
Head coach Steve McNamara added: “Matt has been a great addition to us since his arrival and he continues to grow and impress as a young man and a player. We are delighted he has agreed a new contract.”
Movement at Catalans
France World Cup hopeful Mathieu Cozza has joined Championship side Barrow on a one-month loan deal from the Dragons.
Cozza made his Dragons debut in 2021 and has gone on to make four appearances in total.
He has played much of the season for Saint-Esteve XIII, Catalans’ feeder team, in the French Elite 1 Championship.
Meanwhile, the club confirmed the re-signing of all-time leading try-scorer Fouad Yaha on a new two-year deal. The Perpignan-based side have also signed goal-kicking Tonga international Siosiua Taukeiaho from 2023 on a two-year deal, with the option for a third.
