McIlorum signs new Wigan contract
Wigan and England hooker Michael McIllorum has signed a new four-year deal at the DW Stadium.
McIllorum, 26, has made 166 appearances for the Warriors since making his first team debut back in 2007.
The Leeds-born England international has a total of 16 tries in Cherry and White, including a score in last season’s Grand Final win over Warrington.
Wigan head coach Shaun Wane is delighted with the new deal.
“Micky’s improved terms for the next three years are just reward for his outstanding performances week-in, week-out whilst wearing the famous Wigan shirt,” said Wane.
“He is an exceptional player and is one of the first names to go on our team sheet because of his whole-hearted commitment and high levels of performance.
“He has a great attitude both on and off the field and I have seen him develop through our system since joining as a 16-year-old and quite rightly he is now rated as one of the best hookers in the world.”
