McNally ahead of schedule
Leigh full-back Gregg McNally is ahead of schedule with rehab from his injury lay-off, while Dayne Weston is also closing in on a return for the Centurions.
McNally, 26, suffered an ankle injury during the pre-season win over Wigan in January and was expected to face up to three months on the sidelines.
Forward Weston is now getting up to speed to return to match action, while close season signing from Catalans, Glenn Stewart, made his return in the win over Warrington.
Coach Neil Jukes said: “It’s nice to see Gregg back on the field. He’s only a few weeks away, he’s two weeks ahead of schedule so the physio department have done a good job with him.
“Dayne is around there now. He had a micro-fracture pre-season so we’ve given him a bit of pre-season ready for when he joins us on the field.
Another back-rower, Cory Paterson, is still seeing a consultant regarding a head injury and may be out for a few further weeks.
Jukes also confirmed that centre Willie Tonga is out for eight to nine weeks with a bicep injury.
