Mexico earns NRL deal
Papua New Guinea World Cup star Mark Mexico has signed a one-year deal with NRL club Cronulla.
Mexico, 25, played in all three of the Kumuls group games at the tournament, and has been playing for the PNG Hunters this year in the Intrust Super Cup.
He said: “I am looking forward to the challenge with the Sharks and will give it my absolute best.
“I will still be following the boys and the Hunters keenly and I hope a few more can also step up to the NRL ranks.”
Mexico becomes the second PNG Hunters player to sign for an NRL deal, following Wellington Albert‘s move to Penrith earlier this season.
