More calls for Virgin Media to show Premier Sports

MP Greg Mulholland has added further weight to the calls for Premier Sports to be shown on Virgin Media in time for the Rugby League World Cup.

Premier Sports will be showing every single World Cup match live, and in a letter to the Chief Executive of Virgin Media, Mulholland has demanded that the matter is addressed with urgency.

Speaking about the issue, the Leeds North West MP said, “This has been going on for too long. There are calls on Virgin Media’s own online forums to show Premier Sports but it simply must be rectified before the World Cup starts.

“We know there are commercial aspects, but it is appalling that such an important event such as the Rugby League World Cup is simply not available as broadly as possible – particularly in the host nation.”

Mulholland added: “This is a hugely important issue for Members within the (Parliamentary) Group and one we will continue to address in any way we can.”
