Morgan Knowles and James Bentley handed bans
Both Morgan Knowles and James Bentley have received suspensions from the match review panel following the latest round of Super League action.
The pair have received the same charge of Grade B dangerous contact and will miss one game for their respective clubs.
Knowles, 26, will miss Saints’ trip to the John Smiths Stadium on Thursday to face Huddersfield. Meanwhile, back-rower Bentley, 25, will miss Leeds’ home tie with Catalans on Saturday, live on Channel 4.
Knowles and Bentley were charged for late contact on passer. Both their minutes from the match review panel read: “A defending player makes contact with an opponent after the ball has been released by an opponent in a vulnerable position which causes flexion to the head, neck or spinal column on an attacking player, which poses an unacceptable risk of injury to that player.”
Castleford’s Joe Westerman and Salford’s Shane Wright also received the same charge following their wins over Leeds and Wakefield respectively.
However, the pair have escaped bans, and have been fined £250.
Hull’s Davy Litten copped a £250 fine for a Grade B other contrary behaviour.
Finally, Catalans centre Arthur Romano received a Grade A striking charge against Hull KR, but with no further action.
