Morgan seeks Rovers improvement

Hull KR coach Justin Morgan wants his side to keep improving after they leapfrogged Bradford with victory on Sunday.

Rovers have struggled for form this season, and find themselves three points shy of the play-off places after 14 games. Sunday’s win was the first time they have managed back-to-back wins all season, following the Challenge Cup victory over York last time out.

Morgan said: “It (back-to-back wins) is something that we obviously have tried to achieve but haven’t been able to do so all year.

“It was a big game. We can possibly look back on this game at the end of the season and say it was an important one.

“I’ve used the word determined before and have said that the players have had desire and I thought we saw some of that.

“We had some good line speed at different stages. Our execution of some defensive plays needs to improve.

“Hopefully we can draw on the confidence from back-to-back wins. There were periods in the game where we were able to defend our errors quite well. If we’re able to get to that a bit more and when Clint comes back he’ll certainly sure up our defence a little bit more again.

“It’s the same recipe really. Heads down and work hard because we’ve got some ground to make up.”
