New broadcast agreement confirmed for Catalans Dragons in 2023
A new broadcast agreement has been confirmed for Catalans Dragons and their 2023 Super League campaign, while beIN SPORTS has reportedly withdrawn from covering the competition.
The French outfit has agreed a new coverage deal with digital platform, L’Equipe.
Under the new agreement, five of Catalans’ fixtures have been confirmed for live coverage through L’Equipe’s website and app in the first half of the 2023 Super League season.
The coverage begins at their away fixture at Wigan on March 9 and then at Leeds two weeks later on March 25.
Home fixtures against Warrington (April 8) and St Helens (May 5) have also been confirmed. Catalans’ Magic Weekend tie against Wigan at St James’ Park on June 3 will also be broadcast through L’Equipe, as well as Sky Sports.
The new coverage is in addition to the domestic platform of Super League, with 66 matches to be shown live by Sky Sports. An additional 10 games will also be covered on Channel 4 once again in 2023.
Emmanuel Alix, digital director at L’Equipe, said: “After broadcasting the Rugby League World Cup, we are delighted to offer the best of the club competition with the presence of the only French team – the Catalans Dragons.
“This partnership is part of the promise of the L’Equipe platform to offer the biggest competitions and to discover all sports.”

Catalans chairman Bernard Guasch added”: “I’m delighted with this new agreement with L’Équipe. This is a great news for our fans but also for the Super League competition.”
French journalist Bruno Onteniente has reported that beIN SPORTS has withdrawn from any contract with Super League. The broadcasters covered nine of Catalans’ 13 home fixtures in 2022. They have covered the sport with Catalans since 2012.
