Ormondroyd commits to Featherstone

Back-row forward Jack Ormondroyd has signed a new one-year contract with Featherstone.

Ormondroyd, 22, is a product of Drighlington ARLFC and Robin Sharp, Rovers’ Head of Youth Performance, is delighted the player has decided to continue his development with the club.

“Since he has arrived at the club, he has settled really well into our environment,” said Sharp.

“Jack is a big tall, lean athlete and I am sure our excellent training facilities will aid his physical development even further, particularly working with the first team, and we are looking forward to seeing him progress in 2014.”

Featherstone head coach John Bastian had similar views:

“I have been impressed with the attitude and effort Jack has put into our challenging pre-season programme.

“It is important that he transfers this energy into the next level of his development. Jack was elevated to the first team squad at the start of pre-season training and has acquitted himself well with the senior players.”
