A Spanish consortium wants to enter a team in the RFL structure from Valencia, as part of the game’s continuing expansion, reports League Weekly. The RFL have confirmed receipt of a declaration of interest and have replied with the necessary next steps that the consortium will have to take. The Spanish RL Association is based in Valencia.
Australians interested in St Helens job
Todd Payten and Craig Hodges have joined the likes of Kristian Woolf, Adam O’Brien, Jason Ryles and David Fairleigh in the running for the St Helens job, according to League Weekly. Saints are on the look out for a successor for the departing Justin Holbrook.
Former Hull KR centre heads to York
York have signed former Hull KR centre Thomas Minns, according to League Express. The City Knights beat the transfer deadline to sign the centre, who hasn’t played since his 16-month drugs ban came to an end, and departed Hull KR recently due to injury.
London chase Widnes full-back
Olly Ashall-Bott is a target for London Broncos, as they look to replace Wakefield-bound Alex Walker, according to League Weekly. Ashall-Bott, 20, caught the eye with some excellent performances for Widnes last season, though injury has restricted his playing time in the Championship this year.
