Widdop speculation
Warrington chief executive Karl Fitzpatrick insists star half-back Gareth Widdop has not asked to leave, reports Warrington Guardian.
Fitzpatrick told Warrington Guardian: “The club’s position and understanding has not changed since this matter was raised previously.”
French future
Wigan full-back Bevan French has been linked with a return to former club Parramatta Eels for next season, reports Wigan Today.
The Warriors have already offered French a new contract in case he decides to extend his stay at the club, according to Wigan Today.
Cunningham linked with Huddersfield
Huddersfield are interested in Toronto Wolfpack hooker James Cunningham, reports League Express.
The Giants are keen on signing the 26-year-old for the 2021 campaign, according to League Express.
Ellis: Leeds deserved Wembley win
Hull FC forward Gareth Ellis says he feels for his good friend Mark Flanagan but Leeds deserved their Wembley win, reports The Yorkshire Post.
In his column for The Yorkshire Post, Ellis wrote: “Unfortunately for him (Mark Flanagan), Leeds were the best team on the day.
Smith on off-contract players
Tony Smith has outlined what Hull KR’s off-contract players must do to spark a U-turn, reports Hull Live.
Smith told Hull Live: “That’s why I said to a couple of the players that if they can make the difference and influence the team to be stronger, better and on the front foot, maybe they’re the solution.”
