Papua New Guinea duo commit to Whitehaven
Papua New Guinea internationals Dion Aiye and Jessie Joe Parker have signed new deals with Whitehaven.
Half-back Aiye, 32, was under contract with Haven for 2020 but he has now extended his stay until the end of 2022. He has earned eight caps for Papua New Guinea
Centre Parker, 34, has signed a new one-year contract with the Cumbrian club. He has played 13 times for the Kumuls.
Whitehaven coach Gary Charlton said: “The two PNG lads have been great for Whitehaven.
“They love it here and the fans love them. Jessie lost his way a bit last season with his fitness but he has come back in pre-season a lot fitter and is looking good. On his day, he is a great attacking player to have.
“Dion has signed on the back of a great season. He has given us a lot when coming off the bench and changed the course of a few games.
“I’m delighted to have Jessie onboard and its great news for the club that Dion has committed himself to the club for the next three years.”
