Parker and Bishay are Players of the Week
Leigh Centurions prop Rob Parker and Hemel Stags scrum-half Mike Bishay are the Premier Sports Players of the Week following their displays at weekend.
The experienced Parker led from the front as the Centurions beat Batley Bulldogs 20-0, while scrum-half Bishay was the key figure in Hemel Stags maintaining their 100 per cent start to their Kingstone Press Championship One season by beating Gloucestershire All Golds 28-8.
Both players record the maximum five points towards their respective competition’s Player of the Year award at the end of the season.

Premier Sports Championship Player of the Week – Rob Parker (Leigh Centurions)
Leigh Centurions coach Paul Rowley has paid tribute to his captain Rob Parker for his performance in adversity in the 20-0 win over Batley Bulldogs on Sunday.
The Centurions had to contend with a host of injuries but still produced their best performance of the season, with prop Parker leading from the front.
“It’s been a week where the lads needed a leader to stand up and rally the troops,” Rowley said.
“I think Rob will be proud at how the players reacted when he looked them in the eye.
“He made some promises, they promised some stuff back, and he was a true leader for us.
”His actions on the field and words off it were to the point and from the heart. He showed a lot of truth and desire.”
Premier Sports Championship One Player of the Week – Mike Bishay (Hemel Stags)
Stags’ scrum-half Mike Bishay was in outstanding form as Hemel recorded a 28-8 win against Gloucestershire All Golds, scoring a try as well as creating Ash Fyson’s late score.
Hemel coach Troy Perkins said: “Mike’s on a dual registration deal from London Broncos, and he’s played every game for us this year. He’s got good footwork, he’s not afraid to take the line on and he’s got solid passing and kicking games.
“He’s got all the qualities you’d look for in a good half-back, and against the All Golds we also pushed him up to hooker for a while. He’s been in very good form all season.”
