Pick makes Featherstone move
Featherstone have signed second-row forward Shaun Pick from Huddersfield on a two-year deal.
Pick, 20, came through the academy at Castleford before moving to the Giants this season, and he featured in Saturday’s defeat to Bradford.
He said: “I’m looking forward to a new start at such an ambitious club like Featherstone Rovers. I was shown around the ground and was really impressed with the new facilities.
“I’m aware what the club are doing with the youth department and although I had offers from other clubs including Super League I cannot wait to get started, my ambition is to play Super League and I fully believe I can do so at Featherstone Rovers.”
Pontefract-born Pick played amateur rugby league at Castleford Lock Lane, and will link up with Rovers for pre-season training in November.
Rovers chief executive Craig Poskitt said: “We are delighted that Shaun has decided to continue his rugby league education at Featherstone Rovers.
“Shaun is an ambitious person and ultimately his aim is to play Super League and we feel we are now in a position to meet his ambitions in the not too distant future.”
