Castleford Tigers captain Paul McShane is the latest guest on the Love Rugby League podcast!

The England international joins host George Riley for this week’s big interview. McShane discusses Castleford’s play-off goals following their turn of form in 2022. Lee Radford’s side currently sit fifth in the Super League table, having won nine games from 17.

Meanwhile, the 32-year-old hooker discusses the international scene with England, having made his debut against the Combined Nations All Stars last year.

He also discusses former team-mates Jacques O’Neill’s inclusion in this year’s hit reality TV show Love Island.

More on Paul McShane

McShane made his Super League debut in the opening day of the 2009 season for Leeds. He went on to make more than 50 appearances for the Rhinos before making a permanent move to Wakefield.

He joined Trinity in November 2013 then made the switch to Yorkshire rivals Castleford Tigers in July 2015. Scott Moore made the move the other way on loan.

McShane was ever-present for Castleford in the 2016 season, appearing in every game. He played a vital part in the side that won the 2017 League Leaders’ Shield and featured at that year’s Grand Final.

He was again ever-present in 2020, and won the Man of Steel award that season.

In July 2021, he signed a new three-year deal with the club, taking his contract until the end of the 2025 season.

Following the retirement of Michael Shenton, he was appointed the club’s captain in January 2022.
