Preview: Sheffield v Keighley
Matty Brooks (shin) and Dane McDonald (virus) will both be given late fitness checks before Mark Aston finalises his Sheffield line up.
Danny Mills, Joe Hirst and Ged Corcoran are all ready to come into Aston’s squad if the opportunity presents itself.
Keighley are rooted to the bottom of the Co-operative Championship table, but Aston has warned his players not to underestimate Barry Eaton’s team.
He said: “Keighley are fighters – they are well organised and committed.
“The conditions at Bramall Lane should be good, and we want to put on a show for the Sky cameras.”
Cougars coach Eaton is hoping to have at least one player back from the list of men who missed Sunday’s defeat against Halifax.
Andy Shickell (illness) and Brendan Rawlins (shoulder) were both ruled out, while Gavin Duffy (toe) and Ryan Benjafield (back) both played with injuries.
However, Greg Nicholson is definitely ruled out after breaking a rib on Sunday.
Eaton said: “We’ve got three or four fitness checks to make, and we’re hopeful that we’ll be in better shape than we were at the weekend.
“Under the circumstances we had a valiant effort against Halifax. We had two clear tries ruled out, so we took some confidence from our attacking efforts. We’re demanding more of the same against Sheffield.”
